How do I turn on my radio?
- Push and hold the power button on the left side of the radio until the PEAKPTT logo is shown on the screen.
- Normal boot-up time is 30 seconds.
How do I turn off my radio?
- Enter the PeakPTT application → Push and hold the power button until you see Power off/Restart/Screenshot/Emergency → Tap Power off.
How do I talk on my radio?
- Push and hold the PTT button located on the left side of the radio.
- Release the button when you are finished talking.
How do I change talk groups/channels?
- Turn the circular knob at the top of the radio until you have the desired group selected.
How do I monitor talk groups?
- Enter the PeakPTT application → Ensure you are in the Group tab → Tap the headphone icon to the right of the group you are attempting to monitor.
- The headphone icon changes color from GRAY to BLUE.
How do I privately call another user?
- Enter the PeakPTT application → Ensure you are in the Group tab → Tap on Contacts at the top of the screen → Tap the box to the right of the desired user → Push the PTT button once.
- You are now in a private call with that user.
- To exit the private call, push the BACK button twice.
How do I adjust my radio volume?
- Enter the PeakPTT application.
- Locate the volume buttons on the left side of the radio.
- Push either the UP or DOWN arrow to increase or decrease the volume.
How do I adjust my microphone volume?
- Enter the PeakPTT application → Tap on Menu (bottom right) → Tap on PTT Call.
- Adjust “Recording volume” using the blue slider to the right.
- 15 is the default and recommended level for clear transmissions.
How do I adjust my speaker's loudness?
- Enter the PeakPTT application → Tap on Menu (bottom right) → Tap on Voice.
- Adjust “Enhance loudness” using the blue slider to the right.
- 0 is the default and recommended level for clear transmissions.
My radios sound robotic. How do I fix this?
- Enter the PeakPTT application → Tap on Menu (bottom right) → Tap on PTT Call.
- Ensure “Adaptive decoding” is turned on.
How do I send an SOS?
- Push and hold the ORANGE button at the top of the radio until you hear a tone.
- All radios will receive an audio and visual alert.
How do I cancel an SOS I received?
- Tap OK at the bottom of the SOS alert on the screen.
- Tap the red paintbrush at the bottom right of the map screen to clear the alert from your map.
How do I view the map on my radio?
- Enter the PeakPTT application → Tap on Map at the bottom center of the screen.
- To change map views: Tap the light-blue box at the bottom right → Select Map, Satellite, or Traffic.
How do I send messages to other radios?
- Enter the PeakPTT application → Group tab → Contacts (top) → Tap and hold the desired user.
- Tap Send message → Tap the blue line at the bottom → Type → Tap send.
How do I change the time zone on my radio?
- The time zone automatically changes depending on your geographic location.
How do I acquire my radio IMEI?
- Ensure radio is powered off.
- Remove the belt clip (if slide-on type).
- Unlock the back lock slider (top-rear) → Slide the back cover down.
- Remove the battery (pull down the black battery clip, lift battery out).
- Your IMEI will be visible.
My radio talks too much. How do I disable audible announcements?
- Enter the PeakPTT application → Tap on Menu (bottom right) → Tap on Voice.
- Disable the setting “Voice broadcast”.
How do I change the PTT tones on my radio?
- Enter the PeakPTT application → Tap on Menu (bottom right) → Tap on Voice.
- Scroll to “PTT start sound” and “PTT end sound” → Tap the box to the right → Choose the desired sound.
How do I unlock the screen?
- Click the power button once.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to the top.
- The radio will make a tone once the screen is unlocked.
How do I connect my radio to WiFi?
- Unlock the screen → Push the home button (bottom center).
- Tap the gear icon for Settings → Network & Internet → WiFi → Use WiFi.
- Select your network → Enter password → Connect.
- Once connected, you will see the WiFi icon in the top right corner of the screen.
